I bought Chic Knits for Stylish Babies during a closing clearance sale at Borders. The book is organized by outfit that usually includes booties, hat, pants and sweater. Over 60 patterns total. It was a real steal for the price!
Overall the pattern was amazing. Well written and as far as I saw, no errors! I was confused a bit by the cabling because it’s on an odd row, which means every other cable is done on the wrong side, but once I figured that out it was smooth sailing.
About half way through (maybe 3 months ago!) I lost sight of the end and put it into hibernation. Although cables add some interest to knitting after awhile it felt tedious. Last month I decided it was time to finish the jumper and pulled it back out. The construction is great because there is little seaming. Although I did have a quite a few ends to weave in.

Because babies tend to grow out of their clothes fast I made the 12 month size so that the baby could grow into it.

A winter baby needs winter clothing! Here’s the latest addition to the baby knits.
When I came across NeedleNoodles.com (author of Creepy Cute Crochet) I found a cross stitch chart for a ninja. I was unsure what I’d use it for I saved the chart anyway and I’m glad I did! I was going through my stash wondering what I’d make next and picked up the black and cream yarn that my cousin had given me and thought they’d make a cute two toned color sweater. A Debbie Bliss Raglan sweater (from The Baby Knits book) to be exact. As I pictured the sweater in my head the image of the ninja popped up and I knew I had found my next FO.

I modified the sweater a little bit by adding a moss stitch border to the bottom, sleeves, and neck. Having made the sweater before I wasn’t fond of the rolled edges. Somehow it just looked incomplete. I also modified the chart to be large enough to fit on the center of the sweater. I used the duplicate stitch to add him on (I’ve dubbed the ninja a he). It wasn’t so bad but it was a pain to take out stitches when I made a mistake! Overall I think he looks pretty darn cute.

Pattern: Debbie Bliss Raglan from The Baby Knits book
Chart: from NeedleNoodles.com
Yarn: From Vietnam, unsure of the fiber
