About Me

About Me: Growing up my family didn’t have much, so my sister and I had to be creative about our toys. We couldn’t afford to buy board games so we borrowed our friends and created our own boards, dice, money, whatever the game needed. When Cabbage Patch Kids came out my sister was one of the lucky few who received one (I think it was from Christmas donations at our church). My dad saw how much I wanted one too and the next year for Christmas he locked himself in his bedroom and made me one from items he bought at the craft store. My sister and cousin called her booger nose because of the way her nostrils were shaped, but I loved her (the doll, well I suppose my sister too) all the same.

It’s those experiences and memories that inspires me to say, “I can do that.”

Travel

If I had to pick one guilty pleasure it would be traveling. Visiting new cities and seeing new cultures brings me back to reality and reminds me not to take my life and my surroundings for granted.
