Sk8er Baby!

Posted by 2ton Inspired on June 24, 2008

Sometime last year I saw a crocheted version of these booties and had to have them. At the time I didn’t know how to crochet but was in an adventurous mood and worked out a pattern for these little guys.  I made quite a few of them in green until I got the pattern down AND had two that were the same size. (Back then I had major issues with making two of anything in the same size.)

This pair actually whipped up pretty fast, one per evening. I made the symbol a little differently and thinks it looks much better. I crocheted a circle, sewed it on and then cut a star out of felt to glue on. The stiffness of the acrylic yarn (I can’t remember if the red yarn is Caron or Red Heart) really helps them keep their form.

I think these would be the right size for 6-9 months but I’m not sure. They look small yet big at the same time! Another baby item to add to the growing baby knit stash I have started!

The pattern for the booties are mine but I have no plans yet to add them to my patterns page.

BUT! I did find this pattern on Craftster that are similar.

Also if you’re on Ravelry there are quite a few patterns available if you search for chucks.
