Baby’s First Sweater?

Posted by 2ton Inspired on August 6, 2008

It’s been a baby item making frenzy the last few months. 🙂 This is probably the smallest sweater I’ve made yet and I’m hopeful it will fit a newborn. I was iffy on making such a small sweater because she’ll be a little December baby and I’m not sure how often we’ll take her out the first few months. She’ll just have to be styling it at home!

I really like that it’s a top down raglan. The only seaming that was required was for the arms! I chose to go down 2 needle sizes because all the other baby items I have made using the required gauge have turned out pretty big.

Hello Baby!

On a roll I decided to make booties to match. They’re tiny! Hope to post about those soon.

Pattern: Plymouth Yarn’s Fantasy Naturale Top Down Baby Cardigan

Yarn: Caron one pound

Needle size: 7

This has got to be the sweetest little sweater — the color is just perfect, too! Just precious — you do lovely work!
